Desktop Computer Running Slow?
Computers are like cars if you do not service them they go slow and in the end break down
Here at Wise P.C Callout we recommend that you service your computer every 6 to 12 months depending on what you are using your system for.
What is involved in a P.C Service?
A computer service consists of two main areas of servicing Hardware and Software.
Hardware Service:
You will need the following tools - Screw driver / Can of Compressed Air (around £2.50) /Soft bristle brush
Tube of thermal paste with applicator
1. Remove side panel from the Desktop computer - Some modern desktops are screwless design (We like these)
2. CareFully remove heat fan and sink
3. Clean all the old paste away from CPU and heat sink
4. Take Fan and Heat sink outside and give good blast with canned air whilst agitating with soft bristle brush
5. Take base unit outside and give motherboard and PSU (power supply unit) good blast with canned air whilst agitating to remove all dust.
6. carefully apply thermal paste to heat sink using the supplied application
7. Refit Heatsink and fan - DO NOT FORGET TO RECONNECT POWER LEAD TO MOTHERBOARD!!!
8. Power on desktop and check that CPU fan and any case fans are spinning up freely.
9. Finally Re-attach side panel
Note
If you find that some of the fans seem sluggish you are best off replacing these ,you can get these from P.C world relatively cheaply. Find P.C World Here
